Mom gets a gorgeous Easter dress at Target, but there’s a feature about it that’s dividing folks on social media.

Mom finds a cute Easter dress at Target, but there’s one thing about it that has people all over the internet divided.

A mom in Michigan was shopping at her local Target when she saw what she thought was a cute Easter dress for a girl. But when she looked more closely, she saw that it wasn’t so modest after all.

She filmed how she felt about the dress and posted it on TikTok, where it caused a discussion.

Meghan Mayer was at Target with her older daughter when she saw a dress for little girls that looked like a smock and had balloon sleeves. Before she looked more closely, she saw that they had cutouts at the waist. At first, she thought they were perfect for Easter.

“What the heck is going on here? Is something serious going on?” Today.com heard from Mayer.

The mother of two and seventh-grade teacher says she is “conservative” about how she dresses her seven- and ten-year-old daughters, so she wasn’t sure if she was overreacting when she saw the dresses in Target.

People on TikTok gave her mixed opinions about the dress when she asked them what they thought.

“I completely agree” was written by a lot of people who agreed with Mayer. My daughter is 4 years old and a 6/7. Not at all appropriate.”

“That dress is SO CUTE until you see the cutout.” “Why did they have to mess it up that way?!?”

Some people said that stores were “trying to mature our kids too fast.”

There were, however, many people who didn’t mind the cutouts.

“When I was a kid in the 1970s, halter tops and tube tops weren’t seen as weird.” I don’t think this is a big deal.

“Very likely an overreaction. It’s really cute! I completely understand your point of view if the hair was very short or cut very low.

“This is for my six-year-old,” I said. It’s really cute, huh?”

How do you feel? Is the dress right for girls this age?
