Sally Field, born on November 6, 1946, overcame the discouragement of being told she was “not pretty enough” for movies.
Her journey into Hollywood began with the TV series “Gidget” in 1965 and “The Flying Nun” in 1967.
Despite a challenging family background, including her parents’ divorce and her stepfather’s strict discipline, Sally found refuge in drama.
Graduating from high school, she entered acting with “Gidget,” which led to her popular role as Sister Bertrille. Her talent shone in films, earning her two Oscars for “Norma Rae” and “Places in the Heart.”
She also excelled in television, winning Emmy awards for “Sybil,” “ER,” and “Brothers & Sisters.”
Sally faced resistance and discouragement in transitioning to the movie industry, but she took matters into her own hands, firing her agent and leaving television.
A proud mother, Sally’s legacy extends to her three sons. Peter, Eli, and Sam have each made their mark in the entertainment industry.
Turning 77, Sally Field exemplifies that determination and talent can achieve the extraordinary in Hollywood.
